Port Fairy

The historic village of Port Fairy is part of Victoria's Shipwreck Coast and the famous Great Ocean Road area. The Moyne River, wharf and East Beach are just a few minutes walk from the Coach House. A block away is the vibrant village centre where you’ll find an abundance of boutique fashion and homeware stores, cafés, pubs and restaurants - from fish and chips to fine dining plus all local services including banks and supermarket.

Port Fairy has it all - close to the town centre and one minute from Coach House is the wharf along the Moyne River. Fishermen and yachts come and go as do the seals, often seen sunning themselves on the rocks. A short stroll across the footbridge to East Beach where you might spot a whale or two during their migrating season. Good surf and good coffee at the café next to the surf club. Port Fairy also boasts:

  • an acclaimed 'links' style golf course (constantly rated within Australia's top 50 courses)
  • indoor heated swimming pool
  • lawn tennis
  • bowling club
  • yacht club
  • well equipped gym
  • The Village Green is home to the popular Community and Farmers' Markets on Saturday mornings.

Festivals abound in Port Fairy - the famous Port Fairy Folk Festival over the long weekend each March, Winter Weekends on the first weekend between June and September each year featuring jazz & art, history & heritage, food & wine and the Ex Libris Book Fair; and in October the Port Fairy Spring Music Festival offers a weekend of classical and contemporary music.
